Our Mission

Youth Arts partners with local schools to create diverse opportunities for students to experience, engage, and learn through the arts.

For over 50 years, Youth Arts has supported teachers in MSAD #28 and the Five Town CSD by providing funding for meaningful arts experiences and supplies that enrich student learning. These opportunities connect students with the arts in ways that spark curiosity, confidence, and imagination from kindergarten through high school.

Students have built boats to explore design and form in kindergarten, discovered rhythm and movement through African dance in second grade, and created place-based paintings and poetry in partnership with Aldermere Farm in fifth grade. Middle schoolers have blended science and creativity by engineering balloon-powered cars and large-scale kinetic sculptures for their Annual Sculpture Dash. High school students have taken the stage in a range of productions, while young poets in grades 5–12 have shared their voices across town through Poetry on Windows.

Youth Arts support also helps equip classrooms with essential creative tools from pottery kilns and amps to 3D printers, and provides teachers with materials that bring imagination to life every day. Many of the performances, workshops, and special projects that students experience each year are possible thanks to Youth Arts.

As a volunteer-run nonprofit organization sustained entirely by individual and business supporters, Youth Arts relies on the generosity of the community. Together, we ensure that access to the arts remains a vibrant and inspiring part of every student’s education, nurturing the next generation of creators, thinkers, and performers.
